The 2010 Ditmar awards have been announced at the Australian National Science Fiction Convention, NatCon-Dudcon III. The Winners include Angry Robot Books author Kaaron Warren for Slights (Best Novel), Paul Haines for Wives (Best Novella) and also Slice of Life (Best collected work).

The 2010 Hugo award winners have been announced at this years Aussiecon, with the eminent toast master Garth Nix. This year sees a Tie for Best novel, with China Miéville's The City and the City and Paolo Bacigalupi's The Windup Girl.

Other highlights include Doctor Who winning "Best Dramatic Presentation, Short form" and Frederik Pohl winning "best fan writer".
