Dr Easy, created to help you

The Red Men by Matthew De Abaitua has often been said to be a vastly under-rated novel, not receiving the attention it deserves - Charlie Jane Anders over at Io9 has even gone so far as to say it's one of the decades most under-rated. I must admit that even though it had been short-listed for the Arthur C Clarke Award back in 2008, I hadn't heard of it till this little short story made an appearance (which goes some way to showing how much in obscurity it remains).

Dr Easy is a short story based on De Abaitua's novel and created by Film4, Bafta award winning visual effects studio JellyFish and Warp Films. It's been picked as an official selection for the 2013 Edinburgh International film festival and is one of the best ways you could think to spend 9 minutes and 41 seconds of your time. On the back of this little film I have acquired The Red Men and I really do hope that the film helps to promote the book. Time permitting I will be posting a review on SFBook.

I also fervently hope that this becomes a full length feature film, judge for yourself watching the video below or by visiting the website Created to help you
