Established in 1971 - the Locus Award is presented each year to winners of the Locus magazine's reader's poll. Between 1971 and 1979 there was an award for "best novel" - since 1980 this has been split into "best sci fi novel" and "best fantasy novel" - up until the millennium there was also a category for "best horror novel" however this award is sadly no more.
There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke, and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there?s injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold.
