The Spooks Curse (called Curse of the Bane in the USA) is a young adult fantasy novel from the writer Joseph Delaney and is the second volume in the Wardstone Chronicles.

The Spook and his protege, Thomas Ward have traveled to Priestown on order to wrap up some unfinished business. Deep in the catacombs of Priestown's cathedral lives The Bane, a creature he has never been able to defeat and his ultimate nemesis.

The Bane however is not their only problem, The Quisitor has arrived and is searching for any who meddle with the Dark which includes Warlocks, Witches and Spooks.

When his master is arrested, it is up to Thomas to not only rescue him but also to defeat the Bane once and for all and lift the curse of Priestown.

The Spooks Curse is a fantastic second novel in the Wardstone Chronicles series and Joseph Delaney builds strongly on the first volume to create a gripping, exciting story.
