The Greg Mandel Trilogy is a science fiction detective series by Peter F Hamilton who's protagonist is a former Army officer and has the psychic powers of intuition and detecting emotions making ideal skills for his new profession of Detective.
Greg Mandel Trilogy is principally set in Peter Hamilton's own home county of Rutland (central England) and the story is set in a near future dystopian Britian that is just recovering from ten years of "Marxist-Maoist" dictatorship under the People's Socialist Party.
