Evilution Series by Hylton H Smith

The Evilution series is a near future series set in an alternative history where the Spanish armada defeats the English, leading to the great British Empire being overthrown in 1588 with Spain gaining control of most of Europe.

The series begins in 2016 and the world is a sutbtly different place, the moon is colonised and the internet has been replaced by a secure, robust network known as SACRED. There are many however who would like to see this constricted network overcome while others look to subvert the technology for their own gain.
